The 2009 festival was held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Edwards Greenhouse in Boise. Many attended the event!
Featured at the 11th Annual Idaho Gourd Festival
- Gourd Art Show and Competition was judged by certified judges before the event and viewed by the public during the festival. There were 83 entries.
- Voting for the ‘People’s Choice’ Award went to Gary Carr.
- Best of Show was awarded to Liz Meyer.
- Many visitors came especially to learn about gourds and gourd crafting. There were lots of questions answered.
- Through out the day we had live demos on gourd crafting.
- Gourd artists and growers were on hand.
- Visitors learned how to grow, clean and cure gourds.
- There was great success in Gourd Store sales. We thank all members who donated gourds.
- Sales of uncrafted gourds was a success.
- There were many new people who became members of the Idaho Gourd Society at the festival.

To be discussed: Location, date (one-day or two-day), selection of Overall Chair and planning committee, and request for volunteers for various committee chairs.
