Entry Description Was this Entry Green-Cleaned?
I have read the General Rules. I understand that the Idaho Gourd Society cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of entries before, during, or after the show. My signature indicates my acceptance and agreement.
It is with great pleasure that I announce the Idaho Gourd Society’s 2017 Jim Story Award competition. Our state chapter will not be holding our annual festival this year during which we normally hold our Jim Story Award competition. We will, however, be hosting a special state chapter Jim Story Award Competition for 2017.
To enter, you must be a member of the American Gourd Society.
You may enter two gourds in this competition.
Only single manipulated gourds may be entered; not manipulations involving two or more gourds.
All entries must have been grown after January 1, 2009, and not have previously won at any state chapter’s Jim Story Award or dry manipulated gourd competitions.
We will be using the same judging criteria as the national Jim Story award competition. This can be found at http://www.americangourdsociety.org/JimStory_judging.html
Deadline to receive entries will be October 2, 2017.
Judging will take place on October 7, 2017, and the winner will be announced at the Idaho Gourd Society’s annual fall membership meeting on October 14, 2017. We will also have a special display of all entries at our fall meeting.
The winner will receive a $25.00 cash prize and our special Jim Story Award rosette. The winner will also qualify to enter in the AGS national Jim Story Award competition.
All entries must be accompanied by a registration form. All entries can be hand delivered or sent to:
Caldwell, Idaho 83605
If you are sending in your entry, you are responsible for shipping costs both ways and must enclose proper return postage. Any entry that does not include return postage will be considered a donation to the Idaho Gourd Society, and will be used for fundraising purposes. Insurance is highly recommended as the Idaho Gourd Society and/or its members are not responsible for damage during shipping or on display. Please know we will do everything we can to safeguard your entry while it is under our care.
